New
York City and important world News
Just
the facts. You decide what to believe.
The
"news" is an entertainment industry, with an added
function of forming public opinion.
It
is not a public information service. Truth is hate for those who
hate the truth.
In
1826, John Quinsy Adams, the president of the United States, was
asked about the freedom of
the
press. He responded "It wasn't in the past, it isn't now,
but I sure hope it will be in the future".

February
11, 2024 Superbowl. In a surprising upset and comeback, the Kansas
City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in an overtime play. San
Francisco was in the first half winning 9 to 0.
February
11, 2024 Superbowl. It seems that the television commercials during
the super bowl are becoming more and more ridiculous. Sadly the half
time show has also fallen. Years ago, the halftime show was something
to look forward to. This year, the show lacked dynamics and was
lackluster to a number of people.
February
9, 2024 News commentator Tucker Carson interviewed Russian President
Vladimir Putin. The interview seemed drawn out to many, with
President Putin giving a long, detailed talk, for perhaps half of the
interview, on early Russian history, apparently truly to explain that
Russia and the Ukraine have always been together and have a thousand
year history of working with each other. There were no surprises in
the interview.
February
9, 2024 It seems that many countries are extremely critical of
Israel regarding the Israeli-Palestinian war. Turkish president
Tayyip Erdogan compared the Israeli attack on Gaza to World War 2
Nazi atrocities. It would seem that Israel has lost the propaganda
war and there is now fear that the current conflict may become a
regional war.
February
9, 2024 A Brazilian tourist was shot in the leg during a shoot out
between teenage illegal aliens and police, after the teenage illegals
was stopped from stealing from a local store. Illegal aliens in New
York City has significantly increased the rate of crime. Sadly, not
only is the USA southern border not protected, but illegals are
actually being paid and given debit cards of $1,000, that are
automatically refreshed every 28 days. Almost all Americans are
opposed to this obvious injustice.
February
7, 2024 Former President Donald J. Trump has said that if/when he is
back in office, he will deport millions and millions of illegal's who
have snuck into the country.
February
7, 2024 The controversial and highly unpopular Congestion pricing
toll, that was originally proposed by former Mayor Bloomberg, may
come into force in mid June and cost New Yorkers $15 to enter the
city, south of 60th street. Many feel that businesses will suffer,
Uber and taxi riders will pay more, deliveries will be more expensive
and that real estate values will decline and many other possible
downsides. News1.net recommends that the entire congestion pricing
plan be permanently abandoned.
February
5, 2024 The U.S. Department of Justice and the Attorney General of
the United States has issued a scathing report on both President Joe
Biden keeping secret documents as well as President Joe Biden's
cognitive ability. At one point the 332 page report refers to
president Biden as an old man with poor memory.
February
5, 2024 South Australian court rules employers who mandated Covid
vaccines can be held liable for injuries. So it begins. It is perhaps
only a matter of time that similar rulings will happen in the USA.
February
5, 2024 King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer. The nature
of his cancer was not disclosed, however there is a photograph of the
King in his car that looks as though he is under massive stress.
Prince Harry immediately rushed from the USA and visited his father.
They spoke for over an hour.
February
3, 2024 Polish president Andrzej Duda has stated that the Crimea is
historically Russian and he further expressed doubts that Kiev would
be successful in trying to take back that region.
January
19, 2024 Japan has landed on the Moon with a space craft called
"Slim" or Smart Lander for Investigating Moon. Japan has
become the fifth country to land a craft on the Moon. Prior to this
achievement, The Soviet Union was the first to land (or crash) a
human made craft in 1959, followed by soft landings by again the
Soviet Union, followed by the United States, and many years later,
China and India. The United States is said to be the first to land
people on the Moon on July 20, 1969.
January
19, 2024 The controversial American actor Alec Baldwin has been
charged by a New Mexico grand jury of involuntary manslaughter over
the killing of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.
January

January
17, 2024 The United States Army has removed it's highly
controversial LGBT recruitment commercial that it put out in 2022
amid drastically reduced number of new recruits.
January
17, 2024 "Having children is saving the world" said Elon
Musk. This phrase is now being used on a billboard by a diaper
company, in Times Square. It is true that at 3:30PM, most American
playgrounds are empty and very few couples are getting married and
having families. This is an industrial world phenomenon. The cause of
this is complex. Women are encouraged to seek careers first, and
often this means that they lose the opportunity to meet a man to have
a family with. Further, some say that general selfishness prevents
families, while others say that the collapse in the relative standard
of living and salaries in the industrial world, are to blame. In the
United States, men often think twice before getting married since
there is a perception that the court systems are anti-men and if a
divorce should occur, men are forced to pay significant amounts of
money to women under the guise of excessive child support.
January
17, 2024 Photographs of United Airlines CEO, Mr. Scot Kirby, dressed
as a woman, have been circulating on social media sites. This writer
was on a flight from Tokyo to New York in June, 2024, and noticed
what is believed to have been a Transgender Stewardess.
January
17, 2024 The World Economic Forum meeting in Davos Switzerland is
advocating greater news censorship in the guise of reducing "Mis-information".
Be confident that News1.net should be the goal post in news
accuracy. Further, we are willing to assist other news agencies to
censor all news that we do not agree with.
January
17, 2024 Pope Francis sent a message to the World Economic Forum
meeting in Davos Switzerland praising their goals. His message is
somewhat unusual in that he did not mention religion, or Jesus and
nor did he mention abortion which is strongly advocated by the WEF.
January
16, 2024 President Putin of Russia declared that the U.S. 2020
election was falsified and that Donald Trump won the election.
January
16, 2024 Dimitry Medvedev, the vice president of the Russian

January
15, 2024 There are massive protests in Warsaw Poland against the new
Polish prime minister Donald Tusk who the protesters say wants to
destroy Polish culture by importing large numbers of non Slavic, Non
Polish, non-Christian immigrants, who they claim is pushing LGBT
"propaganda" and who they say is a puppet of the west and
the World Economic Forum. Estimates say the protestors numbered over
300,000 people.
January
13, 2024 Former New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern has
married he long term live in boyfriend. They already share a child
together. Under Ardern's rule, New Zealand had some of the strictest
laws limiting almost all freedoms under the guise of protecting the
population from the alleged Covid dangers.
January
13, 2024 Mr. Gonzalo Lira, the well known United States alternate
news journalist, jailed in the Ukraine for allegedly saying things
that the Ukrainian government did not like, has died in prison. Mr.
Lira's father stated that he was tortured to death and that the
United States government did nothing to secure his freedom. Mr. Lira
was 55 years old.

January
11, 2024 The New York City Department of Buildings have issued a
vacate order to the synagogue with the illegal tunnel. The buildings
department has ordered that an engineer be hired to determine how to
upgrade a structure and if necessary, fill in the illegal tunnel.
January
9, 2024 Illegally dug 60 foot long tunnel between the headquarters
of the Jewish Chabad Lubavitch global headquarters in Crown Heights
Brooklyn and a smaller adjacent building. The tunnel was apparently
dug by radical, young Orthodox Jews from Israel to expand the size of
the synagogue, without permission of the Rabbi or the higher ups.
When the tunnel was discovered, the Rabbi ordered that the tunnel be
filled and the young radicals objected. Police were called and a riot
ensued with a number of young Orthodox men being arrested. This is an
evolving story.
January
7, 2024 Today is Christmas day for many Orthodox Christian groups,
using the Julian Calender. It is also the Epiphany or Three Kings day
for most of the other Christian/Catholic groups.
January
7, 2024 Ukrainian President Zelensky has banned the Ukrainian
Orthodox Christian Church and has ordered that their Christmas be
celebrated on December 25, as listed in the Gregorian Calender,
rather than January 7, as listed in the Julian Calender. President
Zelensky is of Jewish background.
January
4, 2024 Automobile sales data shows that the sale of Electric
Vehicles is slowing down. It is believed that the long charging times
or 1 hour for a 40% charge or 8 hours for a full charge, plus limited
range and high initial cost plus a lower resale price is contributing
to the decline in electric vehicle sales.
January
4, 2024 Reports/rumors have been floating around the Ukraine stating
that the Ukrainian government is considering exempting high earners
from military draft. During the U.S. Civil War, it was possible for a
drafted person to be exempt from military service in the North, if
they could find someone to take their place or if they paid a fee of
$200. In the 1860's, $200 was the average yearly income for the owner
of a farm.

Congestion
Pricing favors the upper income people and will
significantly reduce local business, while pushing middle class
drivers to shop elsewhere that does not have this burdensome tax.
Ultimately this will work against the city.
Subway
barriers: New
York, NY January 21, 2022 With falling and being pushed onto the
subway tracks becoming a daily occurrence, it is time to promptly
install subway barriers / gates on all 480 subway and elevated
stations. Frank Didik, who has been desperately pushing subway gates
to the MTA and other agencies since over a decade points out that
hundreds of people could have been saved over this period of time.
Further, thousands of people could have been spared hideous, life
transforming injuries, including by MTA workers. Further, the MTA
could have avoided paying out hundreds of millions of dollars in
liability, that could have already paid for the entire subway gate system.

A
reminder to fellow
citizens When
you walk down the street, just remember that every person who you
pass by, regardless of their race or physical appearance, or if they
are rich or poor, has their own goals and aspirations, trials and
tribulations and each person must be treated with basic respect and
dignity. It is essential to individualize and not generalize. Each
group has their good and bad and one must not fall into the trap of
assuming that everyone in a particular group is the same or thinks
the same. Sometimes in our rush or arrogance, we forget these basic truths.
DO
NOT DEFUND THE POLICE With
skyrocketing crime, it is clear that NYC must have an effective and
well funded NYPD otherwise we will be like the wild west.
Time
to start enforcing the laws covering motorcycles,
powered bicycles and powered scooters:
The laws covering
motor vehicles (gas, steam, electric), must be enforced including
having proper registration, insurance and make sure that the driver
has a proper drivers license and skill to drive the motorcycle. NYC
has become like the wild west. Here we see unregistered, uninsured,
motorcycles and their unlicensed riders, using the bicycle lane over
the Manhattan Bridge. Electric scooters are extremely dangerous but
are very popular. They really are unlicensed, unregistered
motorcycles. Originally the State of New York, Vehicle Traffic and
Safety Laws permitted human/motorized hybrid vehicles, primarily
wheelchairs, for disabled people, including veterans after the
Vietnam war. But now the rule is completely abused.

OP-ED
It is time
for the New York City to take action to control bicycles Lets
face it, the quality of life in New York City is suffering
from bicycles, electric powered bikes and scooters. The riders feel
that they are above the law or don't even know the law. These vehicle
almost without exception, never obey traffic laws, go through red
lights and even go through crosswalks while people are crossing. It
is time to start requiring all bicycles to have registration, and
clearly visible license plates, and insurance. If cars and trucks
have to "share the road" with bicycles, bicycles must also
pay their fair share and obey the law. read

Share
the road: This NYC sign says "Share the road".
Good idea! Perhaps it is time for bicycle riders to obey traffic laws
and also pay a road tax, just as the car drivers have to do. Indeed,
share the road!

Is it wrong for
a company to make
a payment in order to protect the reputation of the company? Large
international companies often make payments for certain
"business expenses" such as ransoms paid to pirates to
release ships, kidnaping ransoms, or suppressing unfavorable news, or
paying off people who make false allegations and then deduct such
expenses as business expenses. The companies make a business decision
to determine if it is better to fight an allegation in court, that
may generate bad publicity and damage the company's reputation, even
if the allegation is completely false.
It is
essential to maintain law and order in New
York City There
has been a type of collapse of law and order in NYC. Shoplifting is
rampant, with little chance of punishment, even if caught.
Shoplifting is so prevalent that some stores have simply closed their
businesses. Unfortunately, the recent state law that removes the bail
requirement for many smaller crimes has given the green light to
criminals to continue their criminality.
Besides the
shoplifting and new bail rules, New York City has become like the
wild west when it comes to motorcycles. Today, very few motorcycles
seem to even have license plates, which means that they are probably
uninsured, unlicensed, and unqualified to even be riding. Further the
motorcycles rarely obey traffic laws and almost always go through red
lights, ride on the sidewalk or ride the wrong way down one way
streets. In the past, Police commissioner Bratton and others
maintained that by enforcing smaller regulations, the larger laws
also benefit.
We must have
reasonable police enforcement in New York City and certainly let us
not even consider reducing funding to the NYPD.
Vision
Zero is without vision. Is the well
intended Vision Zero New York City program started under former Mayor
DeBlasio to reduce pedestrian deaths from vehicles working? Some of
the actions taken was to reduce the speed limit in NYC from 30 miles
per hour to only 25 miles per hour. In addition, when the cross walk
light says walk, the traffic light for cars changes a few seconds
later, allowing pedestrians to start to cross before cars start. In
some areas, there has also been guides put on streets so that cars
must make a larger diameter turn. Has these measures work? Actually
these measures have not helped at all. Our speculation as to why
these measures have not worked are as follows. The crossing
pedestrians have come to take it for granted that the cars will
always allow them to cross and unfortunately, the pedestrians do not
look both ways. Further, many pedestrians are oblivious to their
surroundings because they are staring at their smart phones and do
not take a moment to carefully look to see if all is clear to cross
and also many pedestrians wear ear buds playing music or talking on
the phone that further reduces their attention to traffic. It should
be noted that many years ago, the brother of this writer was hit and
killed by a car.
Are
people really living longer today, than in the past? Time
and time again, we are told that people today liver longer than in
the past, but is this true? The answer is that people have about the
same life expectancy as people had 200 years ago. As proof, one only
has to go to a 200 year old cemetery, and look and see how old the
average person was when they passed on. You will find that the
average was between 75 and 85 years old. Also of interest, This
writer purchased an English cookbook from 1795 and discovered that
most recipe required heavy cream, butter or lard. Seed oil, such as
olive oil was very expensive and not widely used back then. Most
dishes were meat or dairy based with very little vegetables, since
vegetables were only available for a few weeks per year. They did
have dried vegetables and also jams. Many nutritionist today would
object to the diet of 200 years ago, but the fact is that as per the
tomb stones, people seemed to have lived as long then as they do
today. Life was arguably less stressful back then and also their work
day was not organized and the people probably worked considerably
less than today's 9 to 5 job. If we go back a thousand years, the
number of days people worked in the fields or work shops was much
less than today, being on average, 150 days per year because of the
numerous "Holy Days" or holidays! It is true that during
the industrial revolution, the factory workers were extremely over
worked, often working 12 to 14 hour days and lived under very dire
conditions. Essentially those workers were worked to death and thus
the average life expectancy did decline during that period.
