2024 Paris Olympics Update
Please note: for a wide variety of reasons, we have decided not to cover the
Paris 2024 Olympics and ParaOlympics, beyond what we have already covered.

Background: As a child, I remember vividly watching the Olympics and counting how many medals the United States won and comparing it to how many medals the Soviet Union won. I think that everyone did this. The Olympics was very competitive. My first clear remembrance of the Olympics was the 1968 Olympics in Grenoble France and in Mexico City. Both had very special moments.

Munich Olympics, 1972: In 1972, my father brought me to the Munich Olympics and we had tickets to various running events. Unfortunately, the terrorist event resulted in the death of 10 Israeli athletes in helicopters that were blown up and by the time we arrived at the Olympic village, the security was so high, that we never actually were able to get into the stadiums to watch the event. Never the less, the people behind the Munich Olympics developed a system of 26 picturegram images that were designed to be understood by any person, speaking any language. For example, an picturegram image of a man or a woman to represent a restroom or an image of a telephone to represent a telephone booth. Today, virtually every website uses picturegrams that allow the website visitor to click on to contact the site, purchase or do a variety of other functions. --- Frank X. Didik, April 10, 2024

Olympics Opening Ceremony Controversey

July 26, 2024 The Paris Olympics opening has created a firestorm of controversy. On the famous Seine river, as part of the official opening ceremony, a group of transvestite/drag queens held a parody of "The Last Supper", mocking 2.4 Billion Christians. Further, one of the performers at the Paris Olympic opening ceremony had his testicles hanging out the side of his pants. Other controversial issues have come up including holding a model head of the beheaded Marion Antoinette. These hideous, vulgar displays of mockery and debauchery has destroyed the good feelings that billions of people around the world had for the Olympics.

July 26, 2024 The Paris Olympics has officially opened with the long anticipated opening ceremony Security in Paris is extremely tight, with many zones closed off to the public, without special passes.

July 25, 2024 The Paris Olympics torch lighting included 10,000 torch bearers including 3 Transgender/drag queens.

July 30, 2024 The Olympic committee has cleared two male boxers to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics woman's boxing match. Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan had previously been banned from woman's world championship tournaments after the International Boxing Association claimed that tests proved that the athletes had XY chromosomes, meaning that they are male. The International Olympic Committee said that the two fighters may compete in the female boxing matches.

July 30, 2024 Slovakia's deputy Prime Minister, Tomas Taraba has announced a boycott of the "degenerate" Olympics. Deputy Prime Minister is said to have written in his official Facebook page "I was supposed to represent Slovakia at the closing ceremony, but for the normal world, this Olympics will forever remain a symbol of degenerate decadence, which abused the beauty of sport and turned it into progressive political Theater. Therefor, I have decided not to participate in the closing ceremony". Deputy Prime Minister Taraba also wrote on his X (former Twitter) account "The insults to Christianity and the decadence presented have reached such a level that they have offended the whole normal world, which understands the difference between culture and garbage".

July 29, 2024 Elon Musk said that the Olympic opening ceremony mockery of the "Last Supper" was extremely disrespectful to Christians.

July 29, 2024 A company in the United States has withdrawn support for the Olympics over the mocking of Christians at the Olympic opening ceremony.

July 29, 2024 The Olympic body has removed the controversial opening ceremony elements from its website.

August 3, 2024 The Vatican has finally issued a statement regarding the Olympic opening ceremony that billions of Christians world-wide has found blasphemous. The Vatican statement is considered rather weak in that it only states that the Vatican regrets the controversial event.

August 6, 2024 Many athletes are complaining about the Paris Olympic's accommodations and foods. Apparently the bed mattresses are made of very uncomfortable cardboard. The Olympic village is not air conditioned, and nor are the athlete's busses. This is allegedly to save the planet from the alleged "climate change" that some people have been told to believe. Further, the food has rather little meat or carbohydrates, also to adhere to the global warming narrative.

Opinion on the Olympics Controversy regarding "transgender" athletes: Rather than Men's Olympics and Women's Olympics, if the International Olympic Committee insists on allowing transgender athletes, the Olympic Committee must establish transgender men and a separate, transgender womens division. Clearly it is not fair for Olympic Women athletes to compete against biological men who identify or who have had surgery to appear as a woman.

April 18, 2024 The Paris Olympics will start in 100 days.

April 17, 2024 For the past four days, the American Olympic Committee has held a summit to introduce to the media and public, some of the athletes that will represent the United States in the Paris Olympics and ParaOlympics. What struck this writer is how well spoken and diverse the American athletes are. Many have illustrious careers besides athletics. Below are a few of the athletes.

Ryan Crouser, 6 foot 7 inches, at 330lbs is the winner of multiple gold medals, including at the Olympic's for shot put. Mr. Crouser also holds the world record for shot put through at 77 feet. A shot put weighs 16 pounds.
Olympic champion Ryan Crouser pointed out that in the shot put competition, that even number eight should be looked at as being the eighth best shot put champion in the world, rather than the loser of one particular competition. Mr. Crouser who studied engineering and political science also pointed out that contrary to the views of many spectators, not all athletes are able to make money from sport endorsements.

Update: Sadly, Lydia Jacoby was not chosen to represent the USA at the Olympics, even though she has such an amazing athletic record. Her exclusion is a loss for Team USA.
